Thanks, Brie. That's what I say too, nearly every time I walk outside. How lucky we all are to live on this beautiful planet!

Thanks Bird!

What a great way to think of it -- Alice's rabbit hole =) And you are so right-- it is all the more amazing that we will never know the 'secrets' to some of nature's deepest mysteries. There is something comforting about not being able to figure everything out-- you eloquently captured the idea of 'enjoying as is'. What an excellent lesson for us-- to be human 'beings' now and then instead of always human 'doings'!

Dear Jackie,

Thank you so much for sharing your reaction to the ice photo. We feel blessed that it touched you like that! We were simply amazed when we went down to our stream last winter and found it graced with such incredible formations -- we have more photos here: http://kentonandrebecca.com/exploremore/naturesart/iceart.html

Thank you also for letting us know about Chicory. We had no idea! We're off to your blog to learn all about it =)

I couldn't have put any of this better myself - sometimes I feel like I've fallen down Alices rabbit hole there is so little I understand. I don't think there is any need to feel ignorant though - so much of this stuff is truly mysterious - science hasn't and won't ever crack all the secrets. But doesn't that make it all the more fascinating? Looking at the unknowable and just enjoying it as it is, marvelling at the stuff we don't understand and maybe getting a flash of insight even just once - that is what I am chasing.

I have never seen a more beautiful photo of ice! Like angels wings or Belgian lace. It was so lovely, my eyes filled with tears. Thank you.

As to the sentiments you expressed, I can only add Amen!

Funny you should ask. About nature mysteries, I mean. I had long been intrigued by Chicory, that it seemed to have only female reproductive parts, and yet they were dusted with pollen. Today I searched and found the answer to that mystery and wrote about it on my blog, saratogawoodswaters.blogspot.com
Just a common everyday weed, but with an amazing sex life.

The nature mystery that intrigues me is that the more you learn, the more you know you don't know. It's all so incredible and intricate.
